NEW: “COVID-19 – Managing stress and risk”
Delivered by industry experts with backgrounds in dentistry, aviation and psychology. This 1 hour web-deliverable course demonstrates some of the key considerations of returning to practice in the new world of COVID-19. Human Factors are incredibly relevant in situations like this, and we take you through a programme of awareness and tools to help you manage risk.
Our courses can be delivered online, in practice and at our state-of-the-art simulator facility at British Airways Flight Training, London Heathrow or the University of West London, Ealing. Our courses showcase how lessons learnt in the flight deck and from aviation in general can be applied within a dental context to improve patient safety and reduce human error through the utilisation of human factors theory. We will demonstrate best practice models that pilots have been applying successfully for decades to reduce stress, manage high work load and problem solve under pressurised conditions and putting these to use in a practical and interactive way. All the theory will be linked back to dentistry with workshops that enable you to put these tools to use in a clinical setting.
If you choose a course at Heathrow or Ealing, you will have to opportunity to fly a flight simulator under the expert guidance of a commercial pilot to fully understand how pilots manage their working environment as well as taking part in interactive workshops across the day with fellow dentists.
Our courses are is designed to be used as part of your Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
